The Simple Woman's Daybook: February

For Today: 2/3/14

Outside my window... the mid-morning February sky is dismal and everything appears to be shaded.

Praising God... for a fresh start this morning.

In prayer for... rewarded diligence.

I am thinking... that staying home is the best choice I could have made for today (and maybe tomorrow too).

I am thankful... for roses still looking gorgeous after 9 days in a Mason jar.

In the kitchen... a pot of chili.

I am wearing... pink pajamas with hearts on them. Why not?

I am creating... a gift for someone I love.

I am going... to begin a new ministry opportunity this week with the Lord's guidance and (hopefully) grace and patience from others involved.

I am wondering... when?
I am reading... The Bible in 90 Days (or so).
I am hoping... for change.
I am learning... that obedience often means not being understood by anyone. Even Christians.
Around the house... schooling, laundry, meal planning, and grocery list making.
A favorite quote for today...
"We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us." Marianne Williamson

One of my favorite things... slow mornings with my favorite people.

A few plans: Bill Nye/Ken Ham debate tomorrow, women's small group, junior high lit club, and a Lego competition.

Today's soundtrack...
